Ichimoku Trading Bot: Automate Ichimoku Without Code

Turn Ichimoku rules into an automation that trades on its own budget. Backtest it, run it on paper, then let it trade live on your exchange.

What Ichimoku Cloud measures

Ichimoku is a whole system in one indicator: the Tenkan and Kijun lines (short and medium-term balance points) and the cloud formed by Senkou Span A and B (support and resistance projected forward).

The simplest reading is also the most used: price above the cloud is bullish, below it bearish, inside it undecided. In the builder you can use the cloud directly or any of its lines as a price line.

Defaults in TradeFIQ: The standard 9 / 26 / 52 periods.

Example: Tenkan/Kijun cross above the cloud

Here's a Ichimoku strategy exactly as you'd set it up in the builder. No code, just conditions.

Enter when (all true)Exit when
  • Ichimoku Tenkan crosses above Ichimoku Kijun
  • Ichimoku Cloud: Price above the cloud
  • Price crosses below Ichimoku Kijun
  • or stop-loss at -3%

Why it's built this way: The Tenkan/Kijun cross is the timing signal, and requiring price above the cloud keeps you trading with the larger trend. Leaving when price loses the Kijun line respects the indicator's own idea of balance.

This is a starting point to test, not a recommendation to trade. Backtest it on your pair, then let it run with paper money for a while before you give it real capital.

Common Ichimoku mistakes

  • Trying to use every line at once. Start with the cloud and one cross.
  • Using Ichimoku on very short timeframes. It was designed for daily charts and shines on 4 hours and up.
  • Ignoring the cloud's thickness. A thin cloud is weak support.

Automating it with TradeFIQ

Once the rules are set, an automation runs them on your schedule (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily and so on) on the exchange you choose. It sizes every trade from the budget you give it, never your whole balance, and applies your stop-loss and take-profit from the moment the trade opens.

If you want to tighten a stop on a trade that's already open, you can edit the live trade's rules without closing the position. And the same Ichimoku strategy can be reused by any number of automations, on any of our supported exchanges.

Frequently asked questions

Can I build a Ichimoku trading bot without coding?

Yes. In the strategy builder you pick Ichimoku from a list, choose a condition (for example "crosses above" or "is below") and what to compare it with, and add any other conditions you want. No scripts or formulas.

What Ichimoku settings does TradeFIQ use?

By default: The standard 9 / 26 / 52 periods. You can change them per strategy.

Can I combine Ichimoku with other indicators?

Yes. A strategy can require several conditions at once, compare one indicator to another (like EMA (9) crossing EMA (21)), and add an optional scoring layer where extra indicators carry different weights.

Does a Ichimoku strategy work on every coin?

Not the same way. Indicators behave differently across pairs and timeframes, so backtest the exact pair and timeframe you plan to trade, then run it on paper before going live.
