SMC Trading Bot: Automate SMC Without Code

Turn SMC rules into an automation that trades on its own budget. Backtest it, run it on paper, then let it trade live on your exchange.

What SMC (Smart Money Concepts) measures

Smart Money Concepts read market structure: the pattern of swing highs and lows. A Break of Structure (BOS) is price pushing past a previous swing in the trend's direction; a Change of Character (CHOCH) is the first break against it, often the earliest sign a trend is turning.

The builder offers each event in both directions (bullish BOS, bearish BOS, bullish CHOCH, bearish CHOCH). Structure rules like these are notoriously fiddly to code yourself; here they're a dropdown.

Defaults in TradeFIQ: Structure read over the last 20 candles.

Example: Trade with the structure, leave when it changes

Here's a SMC strategy exactly as you'd set it up in the builder. No code, just conditions.

Enter when (all true)Exit when
  • Smart Money Concepts: Bullish break of structure (BOS)
  • RSI (14) is above 50
  • Smart Money Concepts: Bearish change of character (CHOCH)
  • or stop-loss at -3%

Why it's built this way: A bullish BOS confirms the uptrend is continuing, and RSI above 50 asks for momentum behind it. A bearish CHOCH is the structure's own warning that the trend may be over, which makes it a natural exit.

This is a starting point to test, not a recommendation to trade. Backtest it on your pair, then let it run with paper money for a while before you give it real capital.

Common SMC mistakes

  • Reading structure on a timeframe that's too small. A 5 minute BOS means very little.
  • Trading every BOS without a filter. In choppy markets structure breaks back and forth.
  • Ignoring risk rules because the structure "should" hold.

Automating it with TradeFIQ

Once the rules are set, an automation runs them on your schedule (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily and so on) on the exchange you choose. It sizes every trade from the budget you give it, never your whole balance, and applies your stop-loss and take-profit from the moment the trade opens.

If you want to tighten a stop on a trade that's already open, you can edit the live trade's rules without closing the position. And the same SMC strategy can be reused by any number of automations, on any of our supported exchanges.

Frequently asked questions

Can I build a SMC trading bot without coding?

Yes. In the strategy builder you pick SMC from a list, choose a condition (for example "crosses above" or "is below") and what to compare it with, and add any other conditions you want. No scripts or formulas.

What SMC settings does TradeFIQ use?

By default: Structure read over the last 20 candles. You can change them per strategy.

Can I combine SMC with other indicators?

Yes. A strategy can require several conditions at once, compare one indicator to another (like EMA (9) crossing EMA (21)), and add an optional scoring layer where extra indicators carry different weights.

Does a SMC strategy work on every coin?

Not the same way. Indicators behave differently across pairs and timeframes, so backtest the exact pair and timeframe you plan to trade, then run it on paper before going live.
