Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 31 August 2026  | Effective Date: 1 January 2024

This Cookie Policy explains how TradeFIQ LTD uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform, and what choices you have.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use a web application. Cookies allow the website or application to recognise your device, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you interact with the platform.

Cookies can be "session cookies", which expire and are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent cookies", which remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them. Cookies may be set directly by us ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services we use ("third-party cookies").

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage in your browser for storing preferences or application state locally on your device. These are not transmitted to our servers in the same way as cookies, but serve similar functional purposes.

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you securely logged in to the TradeFIQ platform during your session;
  • Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks;
  • Remember your display preferences, such as your chosen theme (dark or light mode) and language setting;
  • Preserve the state of the application interface (for example, whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed) so that it appears as you left it on your next visit;
  • Collect aggregated, anonymised analytics about how the platform is used so that we can improve it, without tracking individual users across the web.

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or tracking you across third-party websites. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the platform to function. Without them, you cannot log in, authenticate, or use the core features of the Services securely. They do not store personally identifiable information beyond what is needed for session management.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent under UK GDPR, EU ePrivacy Directive, or equivalent legislation, because they are technically required to provide a service that you have explicitly requested.

3.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow us to remember choices you have made (such as your visual theme preference or interface layout) so that the platform behaves consistently each time you visit. These cookies enhance your experience but are not essential to core functionality.

Functional cookies that are set with your implicit consent (for example, by saving your theme preference through a UI action) do not require a separate opt-in, but you may disable them through your browser settings.

3.3 Analytics Cookies

We use self-hosted analytics software (such as Plausible Analytics or Matomo) to understand how users navigate and use the platform. These tools are configured to:

  • Not collect or transmit personally identifiable information;
  • Not track users across third-party websites;
  • Not build individual user profiles or share data with advertising networks;
  • Respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals where applicable.

Because these analytics tools are privacy-respecting and self-hosted, they may not set traditional cookies. Plausible, for example, is cookieless by default and counts visitors using only anonymised technical parameters.

Where analytics cookies are set, they will be clearly identified in the cookie table below.

3.4 Marketing Cookies

TradeFIQ does not use marketing cookies. We do not participate in advertising networks, retargeting campaigns, or interest-based advertising. We do not embed advertising pixels, tracking scripts from social media platforms, or third-party marketing tags on our platform.

4. Cookie Reference Table

The following table provides details of the specific cookies and browser storage entries used by TradeFIQ:

5. Third-Party Cookies

TradeFIQ does not embed third-party scripts that set marketing, advertising, or tracking cookies on your device. The only third-party services that may set a cookie in connection with the Services are our payment processors Paystack, Lemon Squeezy, and NowPayments which use a limited set of cookies on billing and payment pages to prevent fraud and ensure payment session integrity. Their cookie usage is governed by Paystack's, Lemon Squeezy's, and NowPayments' respective privacy policies and applies only when you interact with payment forms.

We do not use social media pixels, advertising retargeting tags, or analytics services that report data to third-party advertising platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag).

6. How to Manage and Delete Cookies

6.1 Browser Controls

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View all cookies currently stored on your device;
  • Delete specific cookies or all cookies;
  • Block cookies from specific websites or all third parties;
  • Set the browser to ask for your consent before accepting cookies;
  • Browse in private or incognito mode, which discards session cookies when you close the window.

Instructions for managing cookies in the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings Privacy and security Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings Privacy & Security Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences Privacy Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings Privacy, search and services Cookies and site permissions
  • Opera: Settings Advanced Privacy & Security Cookies

6.2 Clearing localStorage

To remove data stored in your browser's localStorage (such as the sb_expanded and theme values), you can use your browser's developer tools:

  • Open developer tools (F12 or right-click Inspect);
  • Navigate to Application Storage Local Storage;
  • Select the TradeFIQ domain and delete the relevant entries or clear all.

Alternatively, clearing your browser's site data for tradefiq.com will remove all cookies and localStorage entries simultaneously.

6.3 Consequences of Disabling Cookies

If you disable strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in to the TradeFIQ platform, as authentication requires session cookies to function securely. If you delete functional cookies, your preferences (such as your theme) will be reset to defaults on your next visit. Disabling analytics will not affect platform functionality in any way.

6.4 Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. There is currently no legal requirement or industry consensus on how websites must respond to DNT signals. However, our self-hosted analytics tools are configured to respect DNT signals where supported, and in any case do not engage in cross-site tracking. We do not have third-party advertising or retargeting in place that would require a DNT response.

7. Cookie Consent

Under applicable law (including the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive):

  • Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent as they are essential for services you have requested.
  • Functional cookies that are set as a direct result of your actions (e.g. choosing a theme) are set on the basis of your implicit consent through that action.
  • Analytics cookies (where they apply) may require your consent in some jurisdictions. Where required, we will seek consent through a cookie consent notice before analytics cookies are set.

If you have previously provided consent for non-essential cookies, you may withdraw that consent at any time through your browser settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we introduce new features that use different cookies, or when we update our analytics tools. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email or through a notice on the platform.

We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
